Shutters in Fletcher
A new build is the one time the whole house gets specified at once. Every window is new, square and on a schedule; done properly, the shutters go on that same schedule and the house is finished once, not room by room for five years.
The new-build sheet
Hidden tilt, everywhere. New windows have clean lines; the shutters should keep them. Hidden tilt gears live in the stile, so every panel in the house reads as one uninterrupted plane of louvres. No rods, nothing to catch a duster on.
Wide blades for big glass. Estate builds run big openings: 89 mm carries the standard windows, 114 mm goes where the glass is tall or the outlook matters. Fewer blades, more light, and the modern proportions the house was drawn with.
Motorise the high ones on day one. Stairwell voids and high living-room glass are exactly where retrofitting wiring hurts later. If we see the house before plaster, the motor wiring roughs in for the cost of a conversation; if after handover, rechargeable tilt motors do the job without a chase. Either way, decide it now, not at year three. Motorised, specified.
Wet areas in PVC, garage-side and street-facing tuned per window. The ensuite and laundry take the steam-proof spec; a street-facing theatre room might earn a roller shutter for dark and quiet. One measure, one order, one install day.
One schedule, one install, house finished. That's the whole-home advantage.
Cameron Park runs on the same drawing: same builders, same window schedules, same answer. And this is the one part of Newcastle where the salt band doesn't reach, so basswood is on the table in every dry room if you prefer timber's warmth.
Asked in the new west
When should we book, relative to handover?
Enquire before handover if you can; measure happens once the windows are in and the keys are yours. If you want motors wired rather than rechargeable, the conversation is worth having at frame stage, and your builder will know exactly what we mean.
Do we have to do the whole house at once?
No; plenty of homes start with the living areas and street-facing rooms, then finish the bedrooms later. The whole-home order simply saves the second measure and gets every window matching from one batch.
Shutters or curtains on a new build?
Honestly, often both, in different rooms. Shutters carry the working windows: light, privacy and heat control that operates blade by blade and wipes clean. Where you want softness over a bedroom window, curtains layer over shutters happily. We will tell you window by window at the measure which is earning its keep.

Every window is bespoke. The quote starts at your place, not ours.
A specialist measures each opening, talks through material, louvre width and tilt for your rooms and your exposure, and leaves you a written quote. Nothing is made until the figures are checked on site.
